The Rotary Club Kigali Mont Jali held its first General Assembly of the 2026–2027 Rotary year on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at Grazia Hotel in Kigali, bringing members together for a moment of fellowship, reflection and planning for the year ahead.
The gathering provided an opportunity for members to reconnect, welcome the new Rotary year and align around the Club’s key priorities and ambitions. Beyond the formal proceedings, the General Assembly reaffirmed the spirit of fellowship and service that brings Rotarians together, while fostering a shared vision of how the Club can make a meaningful contribution to its community throughout the year.
Driven by the ambition to create lasting impact, the Club’s roadmap for the year places particular emphasis on initiatives that respond to community needs while creating opportunities for members to contribute their skills, time and networks in service to others.
…Environmental Action
On the environmental front, the Club plans to actively mobilize its members and work closely with young Rotaractors and partners on concrete initiatives, including tree planting and community awareness on combating deforestation.
These activities will be carried out as part of ECORATA, a flagship initiative led by Rotaract clubs in Rwanda. This year, the project will be implemented in Rwinkwavu, Kayonza District, in Rwanda’s Eastern Province.
Beyond planting trees, the initiative carries a broader ambition: to strengthen environmental responsibility, mobilize communities and make environmental protection a truly collective and sustainable effort.
…Supporting Education
In education, the Club intends to support initiatives that benefit young people and contribute to better learning environments. Among the planned activities is a collaboration with a Rotary Club of Alassio in Italy to support the construction of a kitchen at a secondary school in Musha, contributing to the wellbeing of students and the surrounding community.
…Strengthening Healthcare
In the health sector, one of the Club’s flagship projects will support Bwishyura Health Centre in Karongi District, Western Province, in securing reliable access to electricity. The initiative is expected to significantly improve the quality and continuity of healthcare services provided to the community.
The Club will also continue exploring opportunities for service in other areas, including health, youth development, solidarity and social cohesion.
This first General Assembly therefore marks an important starting point for the new Rotary year. Throughout the year, Rotary Club Kigali Mont Jali aims to turn these priorities into concrete action, working alongside its members, partners and communities to create lasting impact.
